Linguistic Pros is inviting qualified translators, linguists, and localization professionals to test selected TMX products and provide independent feedback on technical compatibility, linguistic quality, terminology, usability, and translation value.
How it works
The Testing Process

Apply to participate
Submit your application with your professional background, language pairs, and CAT/TMS environment details.
- 02
Receive a selected TMX
Accepted testers receive access to a designated TMX resource matched to their language pair and domain expertise.

Import and test in your environment
Import the TMX into your CAT or TMS platform and work with it under real translation conditions.

Complete the tester evaluation
Use the structured evaluation form to document your findings across all testing areas.
- 05
Report issues and recommendations
Submit your completed evaluation with any identified issues, terminology notes, and recommendations.

Testing scope
Testing Areas
Testers evaluate TMX resources across the following structured areas.
- TMX import and compatibility
Verify successful import into your CAT/TMS platform without errors or data loss.
- Encoding and Arabic/Persian display
Confirm correct rendering of Arabic and Persian script, including right-to-left directionality.
- Segmentation
Assess segment boundaries for accuracy and alignment with professional translation standards.
- Search and matching
Test fuzzy and exact match retrieval performance within your CAT environment.
- Terminology
Evaluate domain-specific terminology for accuracy, consistency, and professional appropriateness.
- Linguistic quality
Review source and target segments for grammatical accuracy and natural language quality.
- Translation usefulness
Assess the practical value of the TMX content for real translation projects in the relevant domain.
- Duplicate and near-duplicate content
Identify any redundant or near-duplicate segment pairs that may affect workflow efficiency.
- Overall CAT-tool performance
Report on general performance, loading speed, and any platform-specific issues encountered.
Supported platforms
CAT/TMS Environments
Testing is conducted in the tester's own CAT or TMS environment. Compatible platforms include SDL Trados Studio, memoQ, Phrase, Smartcat, Wordfast, OmegaT, and other TMX-compatible platforms.

Apply to Become a TMX Tester
Participation is limited and applications are reviewed by Linguistic Pros. Selected testers will receive testing instructions and access to designated TMX resources.
